Velier is a prestigious house founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix in Genoa, Italy. From the beginning, with his partner Arturo Lupi, they created in 1953 an import company specializing in wines and spirits, distributing notably champagne, grappa, but also tea and cocoa. In 1983, Gian Luca Gargano, then marketing director of Spirit SpA, the largest Italian import company, joined the firm and in the following years, Velier positioned itself as an essential leader in the importation of high-end spirits, aimed at a demanding clientele of restaurants and wine bars. In 1988, Velier made a splash by becoming the first Italian importer of New World wines. From 1992, the house began a rigorous selection of rare casks from old Single Malts and exceptional rums to launch its own range from 1995. In 2001, Velier introduced for the first time in Europe the famous Damoiseau rums. Habitation Velier is an innovative concept born in 2015 from the close collaboration between Luca Gargano and the best rum master distillers in the world. This exclusive range offers Pure Single rums where each edition embodies a unique project revealing original and unprecedented characteristics at each distillery, often considered a world first.
Enmore 1995 represents an exceptional piece: the last rum produced at the Enmore plantation, located in Guyana. Derived from 8 casks distilled in a single pot still in 1995, this exceptional rum benefited from a careful tropical aging of 16 years, before being bottled in February 2011 at its full natural strength of 61.2%, thus guaranteeing a unique aromatic power and character.
