Reimonenq - 7 Year Old Aged Rum - Grande Réserve - 40% ABV
The Reimonenq Distillery, emblematic of rum-making tradition in Guadeloupe, is located in Sainte Rose. Founded in 1915 by Joseph Reimonenq, this distillery draws its roots from local history. Joseph Reimonenq acquired an old cocoa and medicinal plant plantation from Doctor Diavet, then cleared the land to plant sugarcane and build a wooden distillery. Engaged in the banking sector, Joseph Reimonenq also handled the negotiation and export of rum to mainland France, as well as the administrative management of the estate, while Fernand Reimonenq supervised the crops and daily management. The collaboration with André Bon, who brought a steam engine and a mill, marked a major technical advancement. A few years later, André Bon sold his shares and settled in Bordeaux, where he continued trading sugar and rum. After Fernand's death, his son Léopold Reimonenq took over the distillery. Despite a devastating fire in 1970, the distillery was rebuilt and rum production resumed in 1974, thus perpetuating exceptional expertise.
The 7 Year Old Grande Réserve Aged Rum is the result of careful aging for 7 years in oak barrels, giving the rum a rare aromatic complexity and an incomparable richness on the palate. This long maturation guarantees a perfect balance between finesse, intensity, and depth of flavors, ideal for connoisseurs of exceptional rums.
