RHUM NEISSON - Exceptional aged rum - The XO by Neisson - 48.5%
Neisson, an iconic Martinican rum house, was founded in 1931, during the interwar period, by brothers Adrien and Hildebert Pamphile, also known as Jean Neisson. They acquired the La Thieulbert estate, a 20-hectare sugarcane property located in the northwest of Martinique, near Saint-Pierre, at the majestic foot of Mount Pelée. Adrien, the elder, set up a small distillery to produce an exceptional agricole rum locally, while Jean, after completing his studies in Paris, created an import-export company to market the high-end Neisson rums in the French capital. Passionate about innovation and quality, Jean Neisson had a Savalle column modified according to his specifications, thereby enhancing the finesse and aromatic complexity of Neisson rums. Even today, the family-owned Neisson distillery, one of the last authentic independent distilleries in Martinique, rigorously upholds this tradition, sourcing exclusively from the 40 hectares of cane cultivated on their own estate.
To celebrate its 85 years of excellence, this legendary house launched this year a new series of batches including the Neisson XO, distinguished by its power and elegance, bottled at 48.5%. This exceptional agricole rum is entirely aged in French oak barrels and American bourbon barrels, giving it deep woody notes and a unique aromatic complexity. The Neisson XO is a subtle blend of rums aged between 9 and 12 years, offering a gustatory richness both smooth and structured, ideal for lovers of exceptional rums.
