The creation of this rum dates back to 1710, the fruit of Jean Assier's avant-garde vision. Today, his direct descendant, Yves Assier de Pompignan, carries the new philosophy driving the prestigious distillery and the Habitation du Simon, now under the A1710 brand. This distillery is equipped with an exceptional Charentais copper still, complemented by 7 plates, poetically named "Belle Aline."
The range takes its name from its unique production method: a raw column rum. This rum comes directly from the "Belle Aline," bottled at its natural strength without any dilution. This exclusive cuvée of La Perle Brute, named "Canne de Paul Octave," boasts a powerful alcohol content of 66°. As its name suggests, this rum pays tribute to Paul Octave, a passionate sugarcane planter. The meticulous care and ancestral know-how essential to cultivating exceptional sugarcane, carrying all the aromatic and gustatory potential of exceptional rums, are often overlooked.
The plot at the origin of this Perle Brute is located in Saint-Esprit, in the immediate vicinity of the A1710 distillery.
