Distilled in 2017 from extremely malted Islay barley (274 ppm phenols), Octomore 16.3 has benefited from refined aging in first-fill American and European oak casks. Each cask has been carefully selected to create a perfect blend of peaty intensity, aromatic depth, and mouthfeel. This whisky is bottled at cask strength, without chill filtration or the addition of coloring, guaranteeing an authentic sensory experience faithful to its terroir.
On the nose, the aromatic complexity is immediately seductive: powerful, saline peat meets aromas of heather honey, candied lemon, and creamy vanilla, enriched by notes of toasted almond, noble leather, and damp earth. On the palate, the texture is ample, oily, and remarkably deep. Flavors of warm smoke, nuts, dark cocoa, roasted malt, and marine scents harmoniously intertwine with a lemony freshness.
