TEQUILA - OCHO - Vintage 2024 - Reposado - Tierras Negras - 40%
Tequila Ocho is carefully crafted in Mexico, the country of origin of traditional tequila. Created in 2008 by Carlos Camarena, a passionate farmer for five generations and a third-generation master tequilero, in collaboration with Tomas Estes, a pioneer who helped export tequila culture to Europe, this exceptional brand values authenticity and ancestral know-how. Each bottle of Tequila Ocho celebrates a unique and distinctive terroir, and is produced exclusively from blue Weber agave plants rigorously selected for their quality and exceptional character.
Each vintage comes from a singular field, called a "Rancho," offering a flavor profile enriched by its geographical and climatic specificities. The "Rancho Tierras Negras," located in the community of "La Parada" (the stop) within the municipality of San Ignacio Cerro Gordo, has a rich history dating back to the 17th century, where it served as a relay for changing horses of travelers between neighboring haciendas. Initially dedicated to cattle grazing, this exceptional terroir welcomes for the first time the cultivation and harvest of agave. The site, essentially flat with a slight incline to the east, is characterized by a stony soil mixed with cactus, huizache, and other shrubs typical of desert areas. The distinctive clay and gray hue of the terrain gives the field its evocative name "Tierras Negras". The Reposado is carefully aged for 8 weeks and 8 days in American oak barrels previously containing whiskey, thus bringing a delicate aromatic complexity and a rich palette of woody and spicy flavors.
