Cognac GROSPERRIN - Grape Varieties - Grande Champagne - VSOP - Lot No. 1073 - 42%
The Maison Grosperrin was founded by Jean Grosperrin, who arrived in Cognac in 1991 after working various jobs such as farm laborer, shepherd, and sheep shearer during the summer. In 1992, he became a countryside broker, traveling the region to meet small farms in search of the rarest and most authentic lots. In 1999, he began a new phase by acquiring his first barrels of exceptional old cognacs. Combined with his three traditional stills, this marked the true beginning of the Grosperrin Cognac story. In 2004, his son, Guilhem, took over, building precious stocks and enriching the cellars with cognacs of remarkable quality. He carefully selects specific parcels and initiates sustainable contracts with renowned local winegrowers. In 2012, Guilhem expanded the house's horizons by developing a dynamic network of foreign importers, thus attracting a wide circle of knowledgeable enthusiasts and passionate collectors.
Grape Varieties is an exceptional VSOP, made from a unique blend of the emblematic grape varieties Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, and Colombard. This cognac comes exclusively from a Grande Champagne estate, one of the most prestigious crus in the region. Each vintage is vinified independently with artisanal rigor, including the first distillation carried out separately for each grape variety. The eaux-de-vie are then blended in the brouillis state before a second distillation that gives each vintage its singular and inimitable character. After slow and patient aging in oak barrels, the different vintages are harmoniously blended to offer a perfect balance between finesse, aromatic complexity, and elegance. This VSOP thus reflects all the richness of the Grande Champagne terroir and the unique know-how of the Maison.
