The Maison Grosperrin was founded by Jean Grosperrin, who arrived in Cognac in 1991 after working various traditional jobs such as farm laborer, shepherd, and sheep shearer during the summer. In 1992, he became a country broker, traveling the region to discover the smallest vineyards and find rare lots. In 1999, Jean Grosperrin directed his passion towards creating exceptional cognacs by acquiring his first barrels of old cognacs. Combined with his three stills, this marked the beginning of the unique adventure of Cognacs Grosperrin. In 2004, his son Guilhem took over and initiated a process of valorization and stock building by enriching the cellars with rare liquid treasures. He carefully selects plots and establishes exclusive contracts with local winegrowers, guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of the wines. From 2012 onwards, Guilhem expanded the house's reputation internationally by meeting foreign importers and developing a wide network of discerning enthusiasts and passionate collectors.
Grape Varieties is an exceptional VSOP, made from the noble grape varieties Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, and Colombard, exclusively sourced from the prestigious Grande Champagne region. This cognac is the result of a meticulous blend of several vintages from a single estate. Each year, the wines are vinified separately and then distilled once using the traditional method, ensuring the purity of the aromas. Then, the grape varieties are blended at the brouillis stage before undergoing a second distillation, giving each vintage its unique, rich, and complex character. After many years of aging in oak barrels, the different vintages are blended into a perfect balance, revealing all the richness and aromatic finesse characteristic of Cognacs Grosperrin.
