The Loch Lomond Distillery is located in Alexandria, on the shores of the famous Loch Lomond, in the iconic Highlands region of Scotland. Founded in 1966 through an innovative partnership between Duncan Thomas, an American owner of the legendary Littlemill distillery (now closed), and Barton Brands, a Chicago-based company, this distillery has established itself as a major reference in the whisky world. After being fully controlled by Barton Brands in 1971, it closed its doors in 1984 during the major whisky industry crisis. Purchased in 1985 by Inver House, then sold in 1986 to Glen Catrine Bonded Warehouse Ltd, it became under this new management the most flexible and innovative distillery in Scotland, pushing the boundaries of traditional production. In 2014, the distillate joined the prestigious Loch Lomond group, which continues this legacy of excellence today. A true cultural icon, it is the favorite whisky of Captain Haddock in the famous Tintin comics.
Loch Lomond Signature is a refined blend of malt and grain whiskies exclusively from the Loch Lomond distillery. Each batch is aged for a minimum of 5 years in carefully selected Bourbon casks, before undergoing a unique Solera maturation blending Bourbon and Sherry Oloroso casks, thus bringing complexity, aromatic richness, and smoothness on the palate.
