Cognac GROSPERRIN - No. 90 - Bois Ordinaires 1990 - Île d'Oléron - Lot No. 933 - 46.2%
The Maison Grosperrin was founded by Jean Grosperrin, who arrived in Cognac in 1991 after a rich and varied experience including work as an agricultural laborer, shepherd, and sheep shearer during the summer. In 1992, he became a countryside broker, deploying unique expertise by going directly to meet small family farms in the region, always seeking the rarest and most authentic cognac lots. In 1999, Jean Grosperrin made a decisive turn by acquiring several casks of old cognacs, thus laying the historical foundations of Cognacs Grosperrin, thanks to the combination of these precious casks and his three stills. In 2004, his son Guilhem Grosperrin took over, strengthening the stocks and enriching the cellars with exceptional Cognacs. He also undertook a rigorous selection of vineyard plots and established exclusive contracts with passionate winegrowers to guarantee impeccable quality. From 2012 onwards, Guilhem met with international importers, developing a solid network of enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and collectors worldwide.
This Cognac Bois Ordinaires No. 90 comes from the commune of Saint-Pierre d’Oléron. The small estate where this Cognac was made and aged unfortunately ceased its activity in 2007. This unique terroir, characterized by sandy soils and strong maritime exposure, gives this cognac notes distinctly marked by iodized accents and marine freshness, enhanced by island aging that enriches its aromatic complexity and roundness on the palate.
