RENEGADE - Pre Cask - Hope Pot Still - 50%
Renegade Rum Distillery represents the most innovative project of Mark Reynier, the visionary man behind the revival of the legendary Bruichladdich Islay Single Malt whisky and the Waterford distillery, known for its deep roots in Irish terroirs. For this new challenge, he chose the island of Grenada, renowned for its exceptional diversity of altitudes, microclimates, and soil types, ideal for growing exceptional sugarcane. In close partnership with local farmers from CaneCo, Renegade cultivated many exclusive varieties of sugarcane across the island's different terroirs. This collaboration also enabled many Grenadians, of all ages and backgrounds, whether experts or novices, to acquire valuable skills, adopt modern agricultural technologies, and effectively transform certain areas of the island into very high-quality sugarcane farms, thus contributing to the sustainable development of this local agriculture of excellence.
Hope Pre-cask is an exceptional rum made from a rare variety called Cain (B77602), harvested on July 19, 2021, from the prestigious Mamo field, located on the Hope farm, established on a unique rocky terroir that influences the aromatic richness of the final product. The meticulous fermentation of this precious cane lasted 4 days, followed by a double distillation carried out on July 22 and 23, 2021, in a traditional pot still, ensuring unparalleled depth and aromatic complexity. This true spirit jewel was bottled at the end of February 2022, with a limited and exclusive production of 3,150 bottles, thus ensuring rarity and premium quality essential for lovers of exceptional rums.
