Gaston Legrand - Vintage 1976 - Bas Armagnac - 40%
The Maison Lhéraud is ideally located at the Lasdoux estate, in the charming commune of Angeac, right in the heart of the prestigious Cognac appellation in Charentes. Founded in 1860 by Alexandre Lhéraud, a pioneer of family viticulture, the Maison has been upholding a unique tradition of excellence for over a century. From the very beginning, Alexandre planted the first vines in his garden, thus laying the foundations of exceptional know-how passed down from generation to generation.
Today, this exceptional estate covers 85 hectares of meticulously maintained vineyards, spread over two of the six most renowned crus of Cognac, with a predominance of Petite Champagne, known for its particular limestone soils that confer finesse and complexity to the eaux-de-vie. The Lhéraud family jealously guards five traditional cellars made of blonde Charente stone, where Limousin oak barrels ensure natural and optimal aging, allowing each cru to reveal its full aromatic richness.
Furthermore, from Lannepax, in the heart of Gers, Maison Lhéraud expands its expertise by producing a remarkable range of Armagnacs under the emblematic name Baron Gaston Legrand. These exceptional Armagnacs, from the renowned terroir of Ténarèze, are made from a carefully executed single distillation using dry white wines. This traditional method, complemented by the use of a column still, guarantees the purity and intensity of the aromas, thus offering an authentic and refined tasting experience.
