Reimonenq - Dynamic Rum ex-Porto cask - 5 months of dynamic aging at sea - Clos des Spiritueux - 50% ABV
Clos des Spiritueux is an innovative company of importers and bottlers committed to transport exclusively carried out by eco-friendly sailing ships. Founded in 2015 by two passionate French captains, Raphaël and François Mangin, this company promotes a sustainable and responsible approach in the distribution of exceptional spirits. The rums signed Clos des Spiritueux have been bottled since 2017 in their specialized warehouse, ideally located in Saint-Étienne, in the Loire region. Their flagship vessel, the Très Hombres, is a 32-meter Brigantine sailing ship without an engine, capable of carrying up to 35 tons of goods, ensuring zero-emission transport across the Atlantic. Since 2010, the Très Hombres has completed 12 transatlantic rotations from its home port in the Netherlands. In 2019, the creation of La Compagnie des Frères de la Côte allowed the restoration of the historic sailing ship Zeehaen, a large Brigantine over 45 meters long capable of carrying 120 tons of cargo. Clos des Spiritueux's ambition is to develop an entire fleet of cargo sailing ships to offer an ecological and human alternative to current maritime transport, combining respect for the environment, support for fair trade, and enhancement of exceptional products through slow & green transport.
The Dynamic Agricultural Rum ex-Porto cask is a powerful white rum at 50% alcohol, from the prestigious Reimonenq Distillery. This exceptional rum was casked in January 2020 in two casks that previously held Porto wine, then embarked aboard the Gallant sailing ship of the Blue Schooner Company for a dynamic aging of 5 months at sea. Upon its return to the cellars in Saint-Étienne, the two casks were meticulously blended before being bottled, labeled, and hand-waxed, guaranteeing impeccable quality and artisanal finishing. In total, 698 numbered bottles were produced in this exclusive batch, a true symbol of unique know-how combining tradition, innovation, and respect for nature.
