The Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe as early as 1766, continuing an exceptional agricultural and artisanal tradition. However, it was only at the end of the 19th<\/sup> century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the prestigious Marquisat de Sainte-Marie, auctioned following the severe crisis in the local sugar industry. In 1895, he bought the Habitation Espérance to transform this historic estate, changing it from a simple sugar mill to an innovative distillery. Today, François Longueteau, a passionate heir, leads the family house, a true institution in Guadeloupe and the only distillery whose owner is both a farmer and master distiller.
Longueteau rums are exclusively made from sugarcane grown on their own lands, guaranteed 100% natural. The harvesting and crushing of the cane take place on the same day, a crucial step ensuring optimal maturity and exceptional aromatic quality. Fermentation lasts 48 hours without any additives, thus promoting an authentic expression of the juices. Distillation then takes place in a modern Savalle column equipped with 28 plates, for unparalleled purity and finesse of the agricole rum.
