RHUM HSE - Aged Rum - Grande Réserve - Vintage 1960 - 45%
The La Maugée estate, renamed Saint-Etienne in 1863, transformed from a simple sugar factory into a renowned distillery thanks to its acquisition by Amédée Aubery in 1882. This young and ambitious industrial captain deeply modernized the infrastructure and took advantage of the Lézarde river, which runs through the estate, to power the distillery and naturally dilute the sugar cane juices. In 1994, the Hayot family, represented by Yves and José, took over the property following a judicial recovery of the former owners. Significant restoration work was then undertaken on this Martinique estate, classified as a Historic Monument. The famous distillation column was transferred to Simon, and the Saint-Etienne brand then became HSE, an acronym for Habitation Saint-Etienne, a symbol of excellence and authenticity.
This aged rum, highlighted by HSE Grande Réserve Vintage 1960, is undoubtedly one of the oldest and most prestigious agricultural rums benefiting from the Martinique AOC. A true jewel and pride of the Habitation Saint-Etienne, it embodies the quintessence of traditional Martinican know-how in distillation and aging. Presented in a sumptuous red case, this vintage rum is a very rare edition, ideal for collectors and discerning enthusiasts seeking an exceptional agricultural rum with deep and complex aromas.
