This Plantation Rum Amber Pineapple is a classic staple of the house, developed in collaboration with spirits historian David Wondrich. Its name draws from a rich history: in the 19th century, "Pineapple rum" was one of the most prized and expensive spirits in England. This historic gem had gradually disappeared before sparking Alexandre Gabriel's curiosity, who decided to revive it.
This Pineapple rum is made based on remnants of old traditional recipes, carefully reinterpreted by Plantation. Each batch requires a ton of Queen Victoria pineapples, peeled manually at Maison Ferrand. The peels, rich in powerful aromatic molecules, are infused in molasses juice for a week before being distilled in a pot still. Meanwhile, the pineapple flesh is macerated in Plantation Original Dark Rum for three months. These two spirits are then blended and aged in barrels for three months, resulting in a rum of remarkable quality.
