BIELLE - Coffee Liqueur - 24%
The Bielle distillery is ideally located on the exceptional island of Marie-Galante, in the French Antilles, a terroir renowned for the quality of its agricultural and spirituous productions. Founded in 1769 by Jean-Pierre Bielle, who was already cultivating coffee on this paradisiacal island, the distillery embodies a rich family and artisanal heritage. In 1826, his sons joined forces to create a refinery-sugar factory spanning 53 hectares, thus laying the foundations of a prestigious rum tradition. However, rum production on the estate only began at the beginning of the 20th century, marking a major evolution in the local valorization of sugar cane.
After a period of abandonment following World War II, the property was bought in 1955 by Paul Rameaux, before being revitalized in 1975 thanks to the takeover by the SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle). Today, the Bielle distillery is recognized as one of the most prestigious and innovative in the French Antilles, renowned for the exceptional quality of its rums and liqueurs.
The cultivation of sugar cane favors collaboration with small local producers, guaranteeing an authentic raw material respectful of the terroir's particularities. Cane juice is carefully extracted using two traditional mills, then naturally fermented for 48 hours to develop a rich and complex aromatic palette. Distillation is carried out using three Savalle stainless steel columns, modern equipment ensuring unparalleled purity and finesse in the spirits produced.
