BIELLE - Bois Bandé Liqueur - 40%
\nBielle is located on the island of Marie-Galante, also known as the island of 100 mills, a jewel of Caribbean heritage. The prestigious history of Bielle dates back to 1769 when Jean-Pierre Bielle cultivated coffee there. In 1826, his sons partnered to create a 53-hectare refinery-sugar factory, thus anchoring the family agricultural tradition. Rum production began at the start of the 20th century and, after several changes of ownership, it was in 1935 that Félix Bicoto built the main house that still stands today. After World War II, the property was abandoned and then bought in 1956 by Paul Rameaux. However, it was his great-nephew Dominique Thierry, a young visionary engineer, who revived the Bielle Distillery by taking over the management of the Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle (S.E.D.B.). In just 40 years, the distillery has established itself among the most renowned in the Antilles thanks to unique artisanal know-how and a rigorous selection of raw materials.
\nSugarcane is grown directly on the estate as well as by passionate local small producers, some of whom continue the tradition with the cabrouet, an antique ox-drawn cart used for transporting cane. Two traditional mills extract the cane juice, which is then fermented for 48 hours to develop rich and complex aromas. Distillation is carried out using three stainless steel Savalle columns, ensuring unmatched quality. The rum is then bottled either at the historic strength of 59°, or aged in our carefully maintained cellars, conducive to aromatic development.
\nWho has never heard of Bois Bandé? This iconic liqueur is rare and precious but is exclusively available at Clos des Spiritueux. A true treasure of the Antilles, this liqueur is ideal for all occasions, whether festive or convivial. Its flavor profile is marked by delicate spices: you elegantly sense fresh ginger, warm notes of nutmeg, and a subtle touch of toasted bread. Served neat or chilled, it reveals exceptional robustness and creaminess, captivating the most demanding palates.
\nIn Marie-Galante, Bois Bandé is famous for its energizing and aphrodisiac virtues. It is said to "give strength to men, delight ladies, and give ladies the desire for this pleasure," a legend proudly inscribed on the label. This authentic signature enhances the appeal of this unique liqueur, a true invitation to a journey of the senses and refinement of traditional Caribbean flavors.
