The Normindia Gin is an exceptional artisanal French gin, carefully crafted by the prestigious Distillerie Coquerel, an independent family business founded in 1937 and located in the heart of Normandy. This distillery preserves a unique traditional know-how, passed down through several generations. The inspiration for this gin comes from an authentic recipe dating back to 1765, extracted from an old family manuscript entitled "La Chymie du Goût et de l’Odorat", containing a secret juniper distillate formula once highly appreciated by King Louis XV himself.
The Normindia Gin is meticulously crafted from 15 natural botanical ingredients rigorously selected for their quality and freshness. Among these botanicals stand out the crisp Norman apple, zested orange, aromatic cinnamon, noble juniper, delicate lily, spicy clove, fresh ginger, and fragrant coriander, giving this gin a refined aromatic complexity. These ingredients undergo long macerations, ranging from 4 to 12 days, in stainless steel tanks to extract all essences and aromatic nuances. This is followed by a slow and precise distillation in a traditional copper still, originally used for Calvados production, ensuring the purity and perfect balance of this exceptional spirit.
