The Christian Drouin House is located in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, in Normandy, a region renowned for its traditional expertise and exceptional terroir. Founded in 1960, when Christian Drouin Sr. settled at Les Fiefs Saint-Anne, near Honfleur, the farm was then planted with cider apple trees, beginning the exciting adventure of producing Norman spirits. Quickly, driven by his passion, he embarked with the help of Pierre Pivet, a renowned distiller, on the meticulous distillation of cider, perpetuating a precious artisanal know-how respectful of the environment.
In 1969, Christian Drouin Jr. joined the family business, strengthening the excellence and quality of production. Commercialization began in 1979, after careful maturation of the stocks. After a rich international experience of ten years, Christian Drouin Jr. boosted the reputation of Calvados, introducing them into the finest tables, hotels, and gourmet restaurants. Faced with growing success, production was transferred at the end of the 1990s to a larger farm near Pont-l’Évêque, thus fostering development and innovation.
In 2004, the third generation took over with Guillaume Drouin, an agronomist engineer and passionate oenologist. He devoted his first years to strengthening exports before successfully leading production and company management from 2013. The apples used come from two exceptional orchards housing about thirty different ancient varieties, sustainably cultivated according to the strict principles of organic farming. This respect for the terroir and environment guarantees a product of rare quality, a faithful reflection of Normandy.
The Gin signed Christian Drouin, available at Clos des Spiritueux, is made from a neutral spirit delicately flavored with distilled apple cider, the fruit of the meeting between tradition and innovation. This unique distillate comes from a meticulous blend of more than 30 varieties of cider apples, carefully macerated with eight noble botanicals, each distilled separately to preserve its aromas. The blend reveals a subtle and complex balance with juniper, ginger, vanilla, lemon, cardamom, cinnamon, rose, and almond, offering a unique and refined tasting experience, perfect for lovers of exceptional spirits.
