The Talisker Distillery is located in Carbost, on the magnificent Isle of Skye in Scotland, world-renowned for its exceptional whiskies. Founded in 1831 by the MacAskill brothers, who established their distillery at Talisker House in the Carbost settlement on the west coast of Skye, this distillery boasts a rich and authentic heritage. The site was a gift from the chief of the MacLeod clan, a close connection that endures with the distillery to this day. After the MacAskills sold it in 1825, Talisker joined the Distillers Company before becoming a cornerstone of Diageo's prestigious Classic Malt range. With five stills still in operation, the distillery produces approximately 2 million liters of pure alcohol annually. The water used comes from the crystalline springs of the Cuillin Hills, an iconic massif overlooking the distillery. Due to the poor soils of Skye, the malted barley is grown in the fertile region of Muir of Ord, located just 20 km west of Inverness on the mainland.
This exceptional Talisker single malt is an integral part of Diageo's exclusive Special Releases 2023 collection. It stands out for its unique maturation in carefully selected Port casks: Ruby, White, and Tawny, imparting this whisky with a rare aromatic complexity and remarkable depth of flavor, perfect for lovers of bold and refined tastes.
