Pig's Nose - Blended Scotch Whisky - 40%
Pig's Nose is a prestigious brand of blended Scotch whisky owned since 2016 by the renowned family company Ian Macleod. Pig’s Nose was first bottled in 1977 as a 4-year-old blend, created by a farmer and pub manager to accompany his previous house brand, Sheep Dip. The pub was located in Oldbury on Severn, and as this small craft business grew, it began supplying the famous London luxury department store Fortnum & Mason, while strategically establishing itself in international markets, notably the United States, Canada, and New Zealand. Pig's Nose, associated with Sheep Dip, was acquired in 1993 by Invergordon Distillers, a subsidiary of Whyte & Mackay. In 2005, these brands left Whyte & Mackay alongside Alex Nicol, then operations director, who founded the Spencerfield Spirits Company in Fife with his wife Jane. Pig's Nose and Sheep Dip continued to be crafted by Whyte & Mackay's master blender, Richard Paterson, until Spencerfield Spirits was integrated into the Ian Macleod Distillers group at the end of 2016.
Pig’s Nose is a rich and balanced blended Scotch whisky, aged 5 years, composed of a high malt content (40%) from the most renowned regions: Speyside, Islay, and Lowlands, combined with a grain whisky from Invergordon. The whole is matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks, ensuring exceptional quality and flavor complexity.
