HABITATION VELIER - Long Pond - STCE - Vintage 2019 - 3 years - 60%
Velier, an iconic house founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix in Genoa, Italy, has established itself as a key player in the world of spirits. In 1953, together with his partner Arturo Lupi, they launched an import business specializing in wines and spirits, distributing notably champagne, grappa, as well as tea and cocoa. In 1983, Gian Luca Gargano, marketing director of Spirit SpA, Italy's leading import company, became a partner and steered Velier towards specialized expertise in spirits for restaurants and wine bars. A pioneer in its field, Velier was in 1988 the first Italian company to import New World wines. From 1992, it rigorously selected casks of old Single Malts and rums for its own range, officially launched in 1995. In 2001, the prestigious house offered for the first time a selection of Damoiseau rums. Habitation Velier has represented since 2015 the unique collaboration of Luca Gargano with the world's best rum master distillers. Each edition of the Pure Single rum collection embodies an original project with exceptional characteristics, a true world first for each distillery and a guarantee of authenticity and exceptional quality.
