Cognac Delamain - Apogée Collection - Ancestral - 43.5% at Clos des Spiritueux
Cognac Delamain is an exceptional house located in Jarnac, in the heart of the Grande Champagne, the elite terroir of Cognac. Since 1759, when James Delamain, an Irish merchant, settled in Cognac, the house has written a rich history, made of passion, family transmission, and innovation. In 1824, his grandson, Henri Delamain, founded the Delamain House, thus perpetuating a unique heritage. The Delamain descendants, bearers of great curiosity for the human and natural sciences (archaeology, history, botany, literature…), have enriched the house's DNA, endowing its cognacs with aromatic richness and unparalleled elegance. For more than two decades, the Bollinger family, prestigious in the world of fine wines, has presided over the destinies of the Delamain house, guaranteeing passion and exacting standards. The precious eaux-de-vie are enhanced by the talent of Dominique Touteau, a Cellar Master renowned for his excellent know-how.
The Pléiade range groups together the rarest and most exceptional cognacs from Delamain. Each comes from a single harvest, sometimes from a single vineyard and a single barrel, without the addition of sweeteners or coloring agents, and undergoes slow reduction to preserve all the purity and uniqueness of their expression. Produced in limited series, the Pléiade collection is available in three major expressions, characterized by the age and complexity of their exceptional cognacs.
This prestigious edition belongs to the Apogée collection. This unique Cognac Grande Champagne comes from a single barrel (#370-07), for a very exclusive production of only 190 bottles. Distilled on fine lees, it has patiently aged in a 350-liter red oak barrel, revealing all the nobility of its terroir. Bottled in May 2021, this rare cognac is to be discovered exclusively at Clos des Spiritueux.
