PLANTATION - Collection Under The Sea - Jamaica MSP - 15 years old - Vintage 2007 - 48.4%
The prestigious history of Plantation began in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel discovered the Maison Ferrand located in Cognac. Driven by a passion for exceptional spirits, he assembled a dedicated team and embarked on journeys around the world to build a distribution network sharing the same values of excellence and authenticity as Maison Ferrand. In the 1990s, he ventured into the Caribbean with the ambition to resell some used Cognac barrels to other producers, notably rum makers. This is how Plantation was born, an iconic range of terroir rums that highlights the unique expression of different rum-producing regions. Today, the Maison stands out with three major pillars: Ferrand Cognac from Grande Champagne, French Citadelle Gin, and Plantation Terroir Rum. Furthermore, Plantation owns the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and is a shareholder in National Rum of Jamaica (Clarendon Distillery and Long Pond), confirming its international influence in the world of premium spirits.
The exclusive "Under the Sea" collection by Plantation celebrates the richness of marine fauna and flora from the six major rum-producing nations. Each edition is distinguished by its iconic colors and marine species specific to its region of origin, offering an immersive sensory experience. This special edition is a distinctive molasses rum from Jamaica, distilled in 2007 with a Vendôme Double-Retort still, ensuring optimal aroma extraction. This Jamaica MSP Clarendon benefits from an exceptional aging of 13 years in ex-Bourbon barrels under tropical climate, followed by 2 years of maturation in continental climate in carefully selected oak barrels from Maison Ferrand. This double aging phase gives the rum a unique aromatic complexity, blending richness, roundness, and finesse, ideal for connoisseurs and lovers of rare spirits.
