Velier, an iconic house founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix in Genoa, Italy, has established itself as a key player in the world of prestigious wines and spirits. Alongside his partner Arturo Lupi, Velier began in 1953 as a traditional import company, distributing notably champagne, grappa, as well as tea and cocoa. In 1983, under the visionary leadership of Gian Luca Gargano, marketing director of Spirit SpA, the largest Italian import company, Velier took a decisive turn. From 1985, Velier specialized in importing the finest spirits, mainly targeting specialized restaurants and wine bars. A true pioneer, Velier became in 1988 the first Italian company to import New World wines. From 1992 onwards, the house rigorously selected rare casks of Single Malts and exceptional Rums, developing its own brand from 1995. In 2001, Velier expanded its offer by presenting the first exclusive selection of Damoiseau rums in Europe. Habitation Velier, launched in 2015, is the result of close collaboration between Luca Gargano and the world's best rum master distillers. This innovative project offers unique Pure Single rums, highlighting an original project and distinctive characters for each expression, marking true world firsts in the rum universe.
