Tatanka is a renowned artisanal company from Martinique, specializing in the creation of hand-painted artworks on various unique supports. Since 1996, a talented Martinican artist has been imagining and handcrafting these works directly on glass, in an authentic naive art style. Each bottle illustrates authentic life scenes from the Neisson Distillery, paying tribute to the passionate work of the men and women involved in the meticulous crafting of Neisson's exceptional rums. The Neisson Distillery, a jewel of Martinique's agricultural heritage, is located in Carbet, Martinique. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, it benefits from a strong family heritage. Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, dedicated his life to optimizing artisanal distillation techniques, ensuring unparalleled quality. His descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, continue this ancestral tradition with passion and innovation. In 2013, the distillery fully committed to a transition to organic farming, culminating in 2016 with the launch of the first organic AOC Martinique rum. Today, more than 40 hectares of farmland follow this same rigorous ecological commitment.
Neisson also stands out for the exclusive use of its own indigenous yeast strains, carefully selected from those naturally present on its sugar canes.
