PLANTATION - Clarendon MMW 1994 - Single Cask - Bottled in 2021 - 65.4% ABV
The fascinating story of Plantation begins in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel discovers the prestigious Maison Ferrand located in Cognac. Driven by a passion for exceptional spirits, he surrounds himself with a dedicated team and embarks on journeys around the world to establish a rigorous distribution network, sharing the same values of authenticity and excellence as Maison Ferrand. In the 1990s, he travels to the Caribbean with the innovative ambition to resell some used Cognac barrels to local producers, notably master rum makers. This is how Plantation was born, an exclusive range of terroir rums carefully selected for their unique character. Today, the Maison excels in producing three great exceptional spirits: Ferrand Cognac from Grande Champagne, French Citadelle Gin, and Plantation Terroir Rum. Plantation also owns the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and is a key shareholder of National Rum of Jamaica (Clarendon and Long Pond distilleries).
This exceptional vintage of Plantation was distilled in 1994 at the famous Clarendon distillery in Jamaica, where it underwent a slow and careful aging of 25 years in Bourbon barrels. Subsequently, it aged an additional year in a special barrel from Maison Ferrand dating back to 1840, bringing finesse and complexity to the aromatic profile. This Single Cask rum, marked MMW, boasts a remarkable strength of 65.4% alcohol and contains 451 g/hLPA, a guarantee of richness and intensity.
