Elixir Distillers was founded under the name Speciality Drinks in 1999 by the visionary brothers Sukhinder and Raj Singh, who also launched the famous online sales platform Whisky Exchange the same year. In 2017, the company adopted the name Elixir Distillers to strengthen its positioning in the global premium spirits market. The iconic collection 'The Single Malts of Scotland' is an exclusive selection of Single Malt whiskies rigorously chosen since 2005. Each edition comes from the best casks from the six major iconic whisky-producing regions in Scotland, guaranteeing impeccable quality as well as a unique and refined character, recognized by connoisseurs worldwide.
The Jura Distillery is located on the picturesque Isle of Jura, in the heart of the Inner Hebrides, off the wild and preserved west coast of Scotland. Founded in 1810 by the Laird of Jura, Archibald Campbell, this iconic distillery has gone through centuries of history, marked by periods of decline and revival. After a major restoration in 1884, followed by a period of abandonment at the beginning of the 20th century, the distillery was miraculously relaunched in the 1950s by two local visionaries, Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith, eager to revive the island's economy. With the help of renowned architects Lothian, Barclay, Jarvis & Boys and distillation expert William Delmé-Evans, the distillery was redesigned and modernized from 1963, including the adoption of taller stills allowing versatile and innovative malt whisky production. Today, Jura distillery is part of the excellence of the Whyte & Mackay group, a historic reference based in Glasgow.
