Springbank Distillery is renowned as one of the few remaining authentic distilleries in the Campbeltown region of the Kintyre Peninsula in southwest Scotland . This prestigious distillery produces exceptional Single Malt Scotch whiskies under three iconic labels with strong personalities: Springbank, Longrow and Hazelburn . Founded in 1828 by Archibald and Hugh Mitchell , it quickly became recognized as one of Campbeltown's leading distilleries – by 1934, only Springbank and Glen Scotia remained. Today, it is still owned by the direct descendants of the founders, perpetuating the centuries-old craftsmanship.
Springbank is distinguished by its unique artisanal approach in Scotland: production is carried out entirely on site, from the traditional malting of barley to bottling, guaranteeing complete control of quality and aromatic expression. This meticulous management allows the distillery to offer three distinct styles of Single Malt, strongly influenced by the choice of maturation casks and the humidity characteristic of the local climate. The parent company, JA Mitchell & Sons , also revived the Glengyle distillery in 2004, whose Single Malts are marketed under the Kilkerran label. The renowned independent bottler Cadenhead's is also integrated into the group.
Springbank whiskies are characterized by their refined composition, using a blend of both peat- and air-dried malts and a two-and-a-half-time distillation, while Hazelburn is triple distilled and Longrow twice. This method gives the spirits a unique complexity and depth, sought after by whisky lovers worldwide.
