Lillet Blanc - Grande Réserve - 2015 Harvest - 17%
Lillet is a wine-based aperitif produced in Podensac, in the Bordeaux region. Founded in 1872, Lillet Frères, a wine and spirits company, owes its concept to the initiative of Father Kermann, a doctor who had spent time in Brazil under Louis XVI. Upon returning to Bordeaux, he developed invigorating liqueurs made from cinchona, combining Bordeaux wines with exotic plants or fruits. In 1985, the Lillet family transferred the company to Bruno Borie, before its sale in 2008 to a subsidiary of the Pernod Ricard group.
Lillet is made from approximately 85% wine and 15% fruit and quinine liqueurs . These liqueurs are obtained by prolonged maceration in alcohol of citrus peels, particularly sweet orange (from Morocco or Spain) and bitter orange (from Haiti or Peru). The product is then aged using a traditional method in oak barrels .
The Lillet Grande Réserve Blanc cuvée is a blend of wines from a single harvest , enriched with carefully selected fruit infusions. It is aged for one year in oak barrels . This limited production can be stored for 15 to 20 years. For tasting, it is recommended to serve this Lillet chilled, between 8 and 10°C, in a wine glass. It pairs perfectly as an aperitif but also with dishes such as foie gras, white meats, blue cheeses or even dark chocolate and fruit desserts.
" The Lillet Blanc Grande Réserve 2015 captivates with its intense and refined aromatic profile, where notes of sweet and bitter orange delicately harmonize with the characteristic freshness of cinchona. Aging in oak barrels gives the wine a warm richness and a velvety texture, enhanced by a subtly spicy finish. Elegant and complex, this aperitif is distinguished by its perfect balance, ideal for enhancing your moments of conviviality."
