Domaine de Bellevues - David Ramnoux - Pineau des Charentes
The Domaine de Bellevues is ideally located in Mareuil, in the heart of the Charente wine region. Since 1997, it has been proudly managed by David Ramnoux and his wife, who are passionate about environmentally respectful viticulture. This family estate carefully cultivates 8.5 hectares of vines according to the strict principles of biodynamics, thus ensuring exceptional quality and an authentic expression of the local terroirs. Their unique expertise allows them to produce exceptional wines, notably the renowned Pineau des Charentes, prestigious Cognac eaux-de-vie, as well as a typical red wine classified as Charentais country wine.
The Pineau des Charentes offered by the estate is an exceptional product, resulting from a meticulous blend between Cognac eau-de-vie and grape must, a process known as mutage. The must is made from grapes from old vines over 50 years old, mainly composed of the noble grape varieties Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Sémillon. When the must is added to the eau-de-vie, alcoholic fermentation is stopped, thus preserving the fruity aromas and the characteristic sweetness of the Pineau. After a long aging in barrels, the cellar master carries out a precise blending of several years, fully enhancing the aromatic specificities of these three emblematic grape varieties.
