The Maison Christian Drouin, a key reference in the production of exceptional Calvados, is nestled in the heart of the Pays d’Auge in Normandy. Founded in 1960 by Christian Drouin senior, the establishment at Fiefs Saint-Anne, near Honfleur, marked the beginning of a family adventure dedicated to excellence. This estate, planted with cider apple trees, enabled the creation of high-end Calvados. From the start, Christian Drouin surrounded himself with Pierre Pivet, master distiller, to meticulously distill his cider production, which was then stored in the historic farm buildings. In 1969, Christian Drouin junior joined the family business, giving new momentum to the house. From 1979, the first bottles of Calvados reached the tables of prestigious restaurants and hotels, marking the beginning of international renown. Facing growing success, the Maison moved its production near Pont l’Évêque at the end of the 1990s to benefit from larger premises. In 2004, Guillaume Drouin, the third generation, joined the company. A graduate agronomist engineer and oenologist, he developed exports, supervised production, and took over as general manager in 2013, propelling the house into a new era of innovation and quality.
The famous Christian Drouin Calvados come from the harvest of two orchards where more than thirty varieties of traditional apples thrive, all cultivated according to the strict principles of organic farming. The cider fermentation is carried out slowly and authentically, before a double distillation in a 2,500-liter pot still, guaranteeing incomparable aromatic finesse. The aging then takes place in prestigious old casks that previously held fortified wines such as Sherry, Port, Rivesaltes, or Banyuls, for a unique aromatic richness.
Arran Angels represents the excellence of 13-year-old Calvados. This exceptional spirit benefits from 6 months of finishing in casks that held authentic Arran whiskies, giving it depth and complexity. Bottled in March 2024, it is released in only 1,992 bottles, making each bottle a rare piece coveted by collectors and spirit enthusiasts.
