Domaine Chiroulet - Floc de Gascogne Rouge - 17%
The Domaine Chiroulet is ideally located in Gers, the historic heart of the Armagnac terroirs, in Gascogne. Founded in 1893, this emblematic estate initially covered 5 hectares dedicated to mixed farming and livestock, embodying a unique traditional know-how. Alban Sourbès, a passionate winemaker and distiller, endured the difficult years of phylloxera and managed the estate until 1935 with determination. The property was then passed on to his niece, Suzanne Capmartin, and her husband Albert Fezas, who planned an ambitious expansion project interrupted by the Second World War. Today, the estate is run by his grandson, Philippe Fezas, who has diversified activities and modernized production. Currently transitioning to organic farming, Domaine Chiroulet demonstrates a strong commitment to preserving the environment and local biodiversity. Its innovative agroforestry project harmoniously integrates trees and vines to promote a balanced ecosystem, relocate biomass directly onto the plots, and naturally regulate beneficial fauna and the microclimate. This holistic and sustainable approach ensures respectful farming, producing exceptional wines and spirits with remarkable organoleptic qualities.
The Floc de Gascogne Rouge from Domaine Chiroulet is the perfect expression of the typical marriage between freshness and power. It is made from a careful blend of fresh juice (2\/3) from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Tannat grape varieties, harmoniously complemented by one third of locally aged Armagnac. This Floc is aged for several months in old oak casks, giving this traditional drink a complex bouquet, exceptional roundness, and delicate woody notes. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with refined desserts, this Floc de Gascogne Rouge is a true invitation to discover the wine and spirit heritage of Gascogne.
