COTSWOLDS - Peated Cask - 59.6%
The Cotswold Distillery, a gem nestled in the heart of the picturesque Cotswolds countryside, an iconic rural region of South England spanning six counties, was founded in 2014 by the visionary Daniel Szor. This craft distillery quickly established itself thanks to its refined production of exceptional Dry Gin and Single Malt. From its inception, the distillery benefited from the expertise of two major figures in the whisky world: Harry Cockburn, a recognized master distiller and former production director at the prestigious Bowmore distillery, as well as the renowned Dr Jim Swan, a global specialist in cask maturation, whose past collaborations include iconic projects such as Penderyn in Wales, Kavalan in Taiwan, and The Milk & Honey Distillery in Israel. True to its quality commitment, the distillery uses exclusively local barley, carefully selected, which is transported to the historic maltings of Warminster, the oldest still operating in the UK. The entire manufacturing process relies on a traditional 2500-litre copper still, handcrafted by Forsyths in Rothes, for the initial double distillation. After a rigorous selection of the best parts of the Low Wines, these are then redistilled in a second 1600-litre still, ensuring the creation of a spirit of remarkable purity and aromatic richness, destined to become an exceptional whisky.
This exclusive edition is an integral part of the prestigious Cask Expressions collection. The whisky has undergone full maturation in peated quarter casks, thus offering a subtle and balanced smoky intensity that enhances every aromatic note.
