Loch Lomond - Single Grain - Peated - 46%
The Loch Lomond Distillery is located in Alexandria, in the heart of the majestic Scottish Highlands, near the famous Loch Lomond. Founded in 1966 through a unique partnership between Duncan Thomas, an American owner of Littlemill (now defunct), and Barton Brands, a Chicago-based company, this distillery combines tradition and innovation. After full control by Barton Brands in 1971, the distillery went through the whisky industry crisis in the 1980s before being acquired by Inver House in 1985 and then sold to Glen Catrine Bonded Warehouse Ltd in 1986. Under this new management, Loch Lomond became the most flexible and arguably the most innovative distillery in Scotland. Since 2014, it has belonged to the Loch Lomond Group. Famous for its authenticity, Loch Lomond whisky is also recognized by enthusiasts as the favorite drink of Captain Haddock in the Tintin comics.
Loch Lomond Single Grain Peated is an exceptional whisky, made exclusively from malted and peated barley, distilled using an innovative "coffey still". This process gives the whisky remarkable purity and a delicate texture. It then undergoes aging of 4 to 5 years in American oak barrels, which imparts notes of vanilla, caramel, and a subtly smoky touch.
