Hatozaki is an iconic artisanal Japanese whisky brand, crafted by the prestigious Kaikyō distillery. Located in the picturesque Hyogo region, on the shores of the Seto Inland Sea, this distillery benefits from a unique terroir. Summers are hot and humid with temperatures reaching up to 39°C, while winters are mild and dry. Additionally, the constant sea winds blowing day and night create ideal conditions for optimal aging, enhancing the complex and refined aromas of the whisky. The founding Yonezawa family settled in Akashi as early as 1856. After mastering the ancient art of sake brewing, they turned to distillation in 1917. Today, Kimio Yonezawa, a passionate master blender, continues this millennial heritage. Thanks to rigorous training and close collaboration with renowned Scottish Master Distillers and Blenders, Kimio Yonezawa actively contributes to the global rise of Japanese whisky, recognized for its excellence and authenticity.
Hatozaki Pure Malt is a refined pure malt whisky, fully matured in selected Bourbon, Sherry, and Mizunara casks unique to the exceptional Japanese forests of Hokkaido and Tohoku. This exclusive blend comes from Single Malts aged 5 to 6 years, carefully produced in small batches of fewer than 20 casks, ensuring finesse and aromatic complexity. Its profile reveals soft and balanced notes, celebrating the richness of the Japanese terroir and the art of traditional distillation.
