Okayama - Triple Cask - Single Malt - 43%
Okayama is an iconic brand created in 2011 by the famous Miyashita sake brewery, located in the heart of Japan. Founded in 1915 by the brothers Kamezo and Motosaburo Miyashita, this traditional house has preserved its heritage while innovating. In 1967, it settled on the banks of the majestic Asahi River, near the charming city of Okayama, benefiting from an ideal natural environment for distillation. To celebrate its 90th anniversary, the brewery made the bold choice to start malt distillation by creating the Okayama brand, with the first whisky marketed in 2011. Following this success, the team enhanced its skills and modernized its equipment by importing a state-of-the-art German still in 2015, ensuring exceptional quality and continuous innovation in the art of Japanese whisky.
Okayama Triple Cask is a refined single malt, made exclusively from rigorously selected local barley and pure water from the crystalline Asahikawa spring. This exceptional whisky is carefully aged in a unique combination of three types of casks meticulously chosen: Pedro Ximénez Sherry cask, Brandy cask, and Mizunara cask, a rare and prestigious Japanese wood known for its subtle and complex aromas, bringing finesse and elegance to the maturation.
