Kavalan is a prestigious distillery located in Yilan County, Taiwan. Founded in 2005 by visionary entrepreneur Mr. Tien-Tsai Lee, it released its first bottling in 2008. Thanks to T.T. Lee's ambition to create the very first 100% Taiwanese whisky, Kavalan quickly rose among the world's most renowned distilleries, competing with major Scottish and Japanese houses. This international recognition was notably confirmed when Jim Murray awarded the prestigious "New Whisky of the Year" prize to the Solist Fino Sherry Cask in his 2012 Whisky Bible. Kavalan belongs to the powerful King Car Group, a guarantee of quality and innovation.
Kavalan whisky is made with pure, mineral-rich water sourced from the Snow Mountain range. Its unique maturation benefits from an exceptional environment combining intense subtropical heat and humidity regulated by sea and mountain breezes. This warm and humid subtropical climate promotes accelerated maturation of the spirits, offering aromatic profiles of remarkable richness and complexity, far beyond what most traditional whisky regions can produce. The distillery applies a meticulous double distillation: the first step separates alcohol from water, while the second, in three phases – heads, heart, and tails – allows selection of only the heart, the noblest part of the distillate, destined for barrel aging. The rigorous selection of oak casks plays a crucial role in aroma development. When the whisky reaches perfect maturity, the casks are carefully emptied, and pure water called "Kavalan" is added to adjust the alcohol strength, except in versions bottled at cask strength.

This Single Cask was distilled, aged, and bottled at cask strength in Taiwan, ensuring an authentic and powerful aromatic profile. In a very limited edition, only 164 bottles were produced, making this release a rare piece for connoisseurs and collectors.
