Cognac GROSPERRIN - Fins Bois 1989 - Lot No. 865 - 48.4%
The Maison Grosperrin was founded by Jean Grosperrin, who arrived in Cognac in 1991, after a rich professional experience as an agricultural worker, shepherd, and sheep shearer during the summer. In 1992, he became a countryside broker and went to meet small artisanal farms in the region, aiming to find the rarest and most authentic Cognac lots. In 1999, Jean Grosperrin took a decisive turn by acquiring several casks of old cognacs, thus laying the foundations of the unique history of Grosperrin Cognacs, combined with the use of his three traditional stills. In 2004, his son, Guilhem Grosperrin, took over the family business. Under his leadership, stocks were built up and the cellars enriched with carefully selected exceptional Cognacs. Furthermore, he initiated a strategy of rigorous vineyard parcel selections and established direct contracts with independent winegrowers to guarantee the origin and impeccable quality of the eaux-de-vie. In 2012, to extend the house's international reputation, Guilhem developed a strong network with foreign importers, as well as a circle of passionate enthusiasts and knowledgeable collectors.
Fins Bois 1989 Lot No. 865 is an exceptional vintage Cognac, from a small estate located in Brie-sous-Matha, a charming village in the heart of the Saintonge wine region, on rich and preserved clay-limestone terroirs. This winegrower chose to carefully preserve his 1989 harvest despite the major economic crisis that affected the region from 1992, thus demonstrating a deep commitment to quality. Only 364 liters were produced, making this Cognac an exceptional rarity, perfect for connoisseurs seeking an authentic and refined tasting experience.
