The cultivation of sugar cane on this prestigious estate dates back to 1819, a historical heritage guaranteeing quality and authenticity.
\n"Mauritius" represents a carefully selected blend of the best rums from the distillery. This exceptional rum has undergone slow and prolonged maturation for a minimum of 7 years, ensuring finesse, balance, and aromatic richness. With its exclusive History Collection series, the Rhumerie du Domaine de Saint Aubin celebrates the key moments that shaped the identity of the island of Mauritius. This "Cuvée Grande Réserve" particularly honors the bicentenary of the conquest of "Isle de France" which took place from November 29 to December 2, 1810, in the north of the island. A few months after the historic Battle of Grand Port, England mobilized a large-scale military expedition under the command of Sir John Abercromby. The landing at Cap Malheureux quickly allowed control over the few French forces of Governor Decaen. This major turning point was formalized by the Treaty of Paris in 1814, by which "Isle de France" was ceded to England and adopted its current name of Mauritius. This unique edition is limited to only 5,218 bottles, making this cuvée a true collector's item for enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
