The Glenfarclas distillery, emblematic of Speyside in Scotland, is located in Ballindalloch, the very heart of this region renowned for its exceptional whiskies. Founded before 1791, the distillery officially obtained its license in 1836 under the visionary leadership of Robert Hay. June 8, 1865, marks a crucial milestone with the acquisition of the distillery by John Grant. For over 150 years, Glenfarclas has remained a true family business, still managed by the descendants of John Grant, ensuring passionate transmission and authentic expertise unique in the world of Scottish whisky. In 2007, the house innovated with the launch of the prestigious The Family Casks collection, offering 43 exclusive Single Cask bottlings, tracing a rich history with a selected cask each year from 1952 to 1994. Today, this collection extends up to 2001, although stocks from the 1952 and 1953 vintages are now depleted, further enhancing the rarity and value of these editions.
The Glenfarclas 25 years is a masterpiece of maturation, having fully matured in Oloroso Sherry casks. This aging imparts to the whisky an incomparable richness and a deep aromatic profile, characterized by notes of dried fruits, gentle spices, and a subtle sweetness of sherry, finishing with an exceptionally long and warm finish.
