Distillerie du Petit Grain - Gin d'Avril

The Petit Grain Distillery is located in Saint-Jean de Minervois, in Hérault. The micro-distillery was created in the heart of the village by Patricia and Laurent Gaspard. They produce fresh, pure and fragrant eaux-de-vie with their copper pot still made in the workshops of Jean-Louis Stupfler, whose work is renowned for being present in the most demanding French and foreign distilleries. It is a copper still over an open flame, which involves delicate handling, but allows precise heating and promotes the development of aromas. The couple chose fruits from organic farming, healthy and at their optimal maturity. Their philosophy is based on respect for terroirs, tradition and seasons, the apricots are pitted by hand, the marc is destemmed, no operation is mechanised. The distillates are not subjected to any filtration, the heads and tails of the distillation are separated in order to keep only the heart, which give low yields.

The Gin d'Avril (April’s Gin) is made from juniper berries, sage and flowers from aromatic plants foraged in Saint-Jean.
