The Distillerie du Petit Grain is located in Saint-Jean de Minervois, in the emblematic department of Hérault. This exceptional artisanal micro-distillery was created in the heart of the village by Patricia and Laurent Gaspard, passionate experts in the art of distillation. They produce fresh, pure, and intensely aromatic eaux-de-vie thanks to a unique still, custom-made in the renowned workshops of Jean-Louis Stupfler, recognized for his excellent craftsmanship in the most demanding French and international distilleries. This naked flame copper still requires precise and delicate mastery, allowing controlled heating that enhances the development of the finest aromas.
The couple rigorously selects fruits from organic farming, ensuring healthy and perfectly ripe products. Their approach is rooted in deep respect for terroirs, ancestral traditions, and the natural cycles of the seasons. Each apricot is carefully pitted by hand, and the marc is destemmed without mechanization, thus ensuring optimal quality. The distillates undergo no filtration to preserve their purity and aromatic complexity. Moreover, only the central fractions of the distillation, the "hearts of the run," are kept, guaranteeing exceptional finesse, although this implies low but high-quality yields.
