Compass Box - Menagerie - Limited Edition - 46%
Compass Box Whisky is a prestigious Scottish whisky producer, founded in 2000 by the visionary American John Glaser. After solid experience in the wine trade and then in the iconic industry with the giant Johnnie Walker, John Glaser dared to create his own craft distillery, initially in his kitchen. In less than ten years, Compass Box established itself as a benchmark, building stocks of perfectly matured whiskies in Scotland, with a dedicated blending cell and an operational headquarters in the heart of London. The brand stands out for its meticulous sourcing of oak wood from the renowned cooperage in the Vosges region of France as well as forests in Missouri, USA. Each cask is rigorously selected to ensure balanced and refined blends. After blending, the whisky rests in these specific casks for a period ranging from six months to three years, allowing the unique development of complex aromas and exceptional character.
In 2015, the company made headlines by sparking a real debate in the whisky world by revealing an unprecedented amount of information on its labels: precise origins of distilleries, types of casks used, exact ages, and detailed proportions in the final blends. This pioneering approach led John Glaser to launch an ambitious campaign of transparency in the Scottish whisky world, encouraging all producers to adopt a full disclosure policy of their blend compositions, to offer better knowledge to enthusiasts and experts.
