Ardnamurchan - AD/ Cask Strength - Release 2025 - 57.7%
At the wild end of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, on the magnificent west coast of the Scottish Highlands, lies the Ardnamurchan Distillery. Known for the authenticity of its maritime single malts, it seduces discerning connoisseurs with its long fermentations, careful distillation, and meticulous maturation. This expertise results in complex whiskies where the freshness of the fruit, the richness of the wax, and a subtle saline note harmonize perfectly. Ardnamurchan crafts two complementary profiles—peaty and unpeated—offering an opulent, highly readable aromatic palette that captivates all Scotch whisky enthusiasts.
AD/ Cask Strength Release 2025 embodies the purest expression of the Ardnamurchan style. A careful selection of peated and unpeated malts, aged in bourbon and sherry casks, then bottled at the natural cask strength of 57.7%. 100% natural color, without chill filtration, to preserve all the texture and aromatic intensity. Thanks to plot-by-plot vinification and small batches, each edition remains faithful to the distillery's unique identity: a balance between marine power and refined indulgence. Limited edition, available depending on the rarity of the selected barrels, to be discovered at Clos des Spiritueux, a reference in exceptional spirits.
On the nose, the bouquet opens with lemon zest, ripe apple, and delicate honey, enhanced by a touch of beeswax, dried seaweed, and a fine peat smoke. The palate displays a beautiful fullness, precise and structured, dominated by golden malt, baked pear, and a subtle caramel, enveloped in a refreshing salinity. The peat aromas remain airy, reminiscent of embers and cold ash, while the sherry brings its nuances of red fruits, intense cocoa, and sweet almond. Remarkable finish, long and peppery, marked by the salty breeze and a lingering hint of candied orange peel.
Best enjoyed with smoked salmon, seared scallops, glazed pork belly, mature cheddar, or intense dark chocolate. For the best experience, enjoy in a tulip glass between 16 and 18°C. A few drops of water further reveal the notes of wax, citrus, and delicate malt while preserving the spirit's power and texture. Visit Clos des Spiritueux to explore this limited edition and enrich your cellar with exceptional whiskies.
