The captivating story of Darnley’s begins in 1565, when Lord Darnley met his future wife, Mary Queen of Scots, for the very first time at the majestic Wemyss Castle located in Fife, on the picturesque east coast of Scotland. Centuries later, the passionate new generation of the Wemyss family drew inspiration from this historic moment to name Darnley's Gin. The wild elderflower that still grows abundantly around the castle gave birth to their very first gin recipe, rich in authenticity and character.

Darnley’s Original is meticulously distilled in a traditional 350-liter copper still named Dorothy. Classified as a London Dry Gin, this gin strictly adheres to purity of process: no artificial flavors or sugar are added after distillation, only purified water is used to adjust its strength to 40%. The artisanal recipe is based on a skillful blend of six carefully selected botanicals: juniper, elderflower, lemon peel, angelica root, coriander seed, and iris root. This subtle marriage gives the gin a unique signature—light, floral, and intensely citrus-scented—ideal for lovers of delicate and refined flavors.
