The Botanist - Islay Dry Gin - 46%
\nThe Bruichladdich Distillery, a gem of the island of Islay in Scotland, is renowned for its exceptional Single Malt whiskies marketed under three flagship brands: Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte, and Octomore. It is also distinguished by the production of the prestigious The Botanist Gin. Founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers, this distillery carries a rich history, marked by a major fire in 1934 and the death of William Harvey in 1936. Over the decades, it underwent various ownership changes and was forced to close in 1994. Its revival took place in 2000, thanks to a group of investors led by Mark Reynier, founder of Murray McDavid, also known for its Waterford whiskeys in Ireland. The distillery, restored with respect for its Victorian heritage, operates without computerized control, powered solely by gravity, ensuring a unique artisanal methodology. In 2012, Rémy Cointreau became the new owner. Bruichladdich places great importance on the traceability and quality of barley, pillars of its expertise and marketing philosophy.
\nThe Bruichladdich range is characterized by non-peated whiskies, while heavily peated expressions are found under the Port Charlotte brand. Its reputation is further enhanced by the Octomore series, a limited edition collection holding the highest peat levels in the world of Single Malts.
\nThe Botanist is the first and only Dry Gin from Islay to benefit from a purely artisanal design. It is distilled from 22 forage plants, carefully hand-picked on the island, with a sustainable approach respecting local ecosystems throughout the growing season. These exceptional botanical ingredients include: apple mint, chamomile, creeping thistle, downy birch, elderberry, gorse, hawthorn, heather, juniper, red clover, spearmint, sweet chervil, bog myrtle, tansy (marsh wormwood), water mint, white clover, wild thyme, and wood sage. Each plant brings a unique aromatic complexity, making this gin distinguished among the finest selections of premium spirits.
