The fascinating story of Darnley’s begins in 1565, when Lord Darnley first crossed paths with his future wife, the famous Mary Queen of Scots, at Wemyss Castle located in Fife, on the picturesque east coast of Scotland. Centuries later, this iconic meeting inspired the new generation of the Wemyss family to create Darnley’s Gin. The wild elderflower, abundant around the castle, naturally guided the creation of their very first unique and authentic gin recipe.
Wemyss Malts (pronounced "Weyms’ Malts") is an iconic independent bottler from Scotland, renowned for its passion for quality whisky and spirits. Founded in 2005 by the visionary siblings, William and Isabella Wemyss, this house continues Scottish excellence by carefully selecting its artisanal products.
Darnley’s Spiced is carefully distilled in a traditional 350-liter copper still named Dorothy. Classified as a London Dry Gin, it strictly follows the rule that no flavoring or sugar can be added after distillation; only purified water is used to balance the alcohol content to its optimal level. This unique creation harmoniously blends ten choice botanicals: juniper, angelica root, coriander seed, cinnamon, cumin, nutmeg, clove, ginger, grains of paradise, and cassia, offering an explosion of spicy and refined flavors.
