MARS - Cosmo Wine Cask Finish - 43%

The Shinshu Distillery is an integral part of the Hombo Shuzo group (also known as Hombo Brewing Co.) and produces an exceptional whisky sold under the prestigious Mars Whisky brand. Founded in 1872 by Honbu Matsusa, this distillery is located at 800 meters altitude in the picturesque village of Miyata, on the dynamic Japanese island of Kyushu. In 1949, Hombo Shuzo obtained a license to produce whisky at the Kagoshima distillery before fully refocusing its expertise on Shinshu. Although production was temporarily suspended in 1992 due to low demand, the distillery brilliantly relaunched its activities in 2012. Among its flagship products, the Komagatake stands out as a renowned Single Malt, named after the majestic nearby mountain, while the Mars Maltage Cosmo, launched in July 2015, pays tribute to the distillery's unique geographical location as well as the beauty of the night sky observable from Mount Komagatake.

This exclusive 2020 edition of Mars Cosmo is a refined blended malt whisky, benefiting from a delicate finish in red wine casks sourced from its own wine cellar located in the famous wine-producing prefecture of Yamanashi, in the heart of Japan.
